Great home cooking. Fast and friendly service. Daily special meat, 2 vegetables and roll only $9. Pineapple upside down cake was not worth it. But lunch is Highly recommended
Food and waitress were wonderful. The fried pickles were cooked perfectly and the chicken tenders were huge.
If you like downhome country cooking, then look no further. Just pulling up in the parking lot made me know I was in the right place. Nothing fancy needed and the restaurant was very busy. It’s nice to find a place where you can order meat with two or three sides as the staple of the menu. Normally I just order a chicken fried steak everywhere generally but not today. My wife was thinking about the chicken casserole and that intrigued me. It must have been an odd question for the server when I asked, “What is in it?” because she had an odd look on her face. Her reply was simple, “It’s a chicken casserole, like they make anywhere”. Although I was not impressed with her answer, after confirming it did not contain onions, I ordered it. My meal arrived without gravy on my potatoes, but they fixed the mistake quickly. Everyone was happy with their food and sweet tea. The Club with tater tots would be an item I would definitely try next time. As far as chicken casserole goes, it was pretty good, and I would order it again minus the Ritz crumble on top. The portions were in line with most places although the entrée casserole should have been larger. Another note, how does southern cooking not involve white gravy, this was a first for me. I won’t say that the service blew me away and paying cash for a discounted price seems a little odd, but I would come again. Being a reviewer makes me more observant than most and asking questions should be easy to answer in this business.
We were in the area for a white water rafting trip and decided to eat here based off of reviews - and oh how happy I am we did! The food was AMAZING (we had burgers, catfish, cheesesteak, sirloin, hot slaw, loaded tots, Mac n cheese, coconut cream pie… ok, basically everything on the menu), the atmosphere was welcoming but the real gem of this place are the ladies who work here. From our waitress to the owner to Sissy’s hugs as we walked out the door - they are what put our experience here over the top and will make us drive 3hrs to eat here again. Thank you for a wonderful ending to a wonderful day… see you again soon!
It’s a small mom and pop type diner with nice and helpful waitresses. My husband had the bacon cheeseburger with fries, and I had the catfish, with hot slaw, and turnip greens. The burger was good and juicy, but the fish plate was fire. He helped eat because it was so good. We will definitely come back when in town. Oh and the pineapple upside down cake was so moist and delicious!
We were driving through from out of town! Saw the reviews and decided to stop by’ Very down home cooking vibes! Had a small issue, but the owner was soo sweet and handled it immediately! Definitely a place to stop and eat! Very sweet people! The pinto beans and color nuggets were soo good! Will be back! ❤️
Great place! I love trying local. Wonderful people. I met the owner and her husband. Since soul food is difficult to come by, I suggest this alternative, which is a quaint place with country cooking. And while there I met my outfit twin. (Owner's husband)
Highly recommend! Food comes out pretty fast! Friendly, family like atmosphere. Very cozy feeling. Food is amazing and fresh! Service will make sure you’ve got what you need and never run out of drink! Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a good country at home feeling meal. Especially on Thursday for the chicken and dressing!!
This was an amazing experience. My son and I had the hamburger steak and large bacon cheeseburger. They do mean large. The service was excellent and then we got dessert. If you love chocolate the brownie can’t be beat! The strawberry shortcake was soft and delicious!
